Software, gadgets, and other things I use.
I get asked a lot about the things I use to build software, stay productive, or buy to fool myself into thinking I’m being productive when I’m really just procrastinating. Here’s a list of all of my favorite stuff.
13” MacBook Air, Apple M1, 16GB RAM (2020)
I was using an Intel-based 16” MacBook Pro prior to this and the difference is night and day. I’ve never heard the fans turn on a single time, oh wait a minute, this laptop doesn't even have fans. I love how light it is in the backpack, and how long the battery lasts. I only notice that it runs slow when I have too many chrome tabs open, which happens to me often.
Samsung Smart Monitor M7 32" LED UltraHD 4K
When I'm working from home, I use this monitor as my main display. It's big enough to have multiple windows open at the same time. Maybe not the best display, but has a good quality-price balance and do the job.
Keychron K2 Bluetooth Wireless Mechanical keyboard
The first time I heard a mechanical keyboard work was music to my ears. I looked at all the types of switches that existed and what they were for, and I bought this piece of iron with brown switches that I am very happy with.
Apple Magic Mouse v1 (2009)
You read that right, it's the mouse I've had since 2009, it works like the first day and I love using it, so I don't plan to change it until it decides to shut down for good.
BEKANT Standing Desk
I know, it's a whim, but being able to stand up and sit down without having to move anything on the table and change posture is great for my back. I have also glued some leds that my partners gave me under the table and it looks so great.
